Being a parent, your child’s education is always a constant concern. I am sure that almost all parents out there feel the same way, especially when it gets closer to the point where you need to assist your children in making large life decisions

These days there are so many options – maybe even too many! The more research you do online, the more it feels like an information overload.

I heard about the ‘Student Expo’ from a friend of mine and decided that I would go and see what exciting options it had to offer.

The Student expo was a great experience, we got to talk to different Universities as well as Colleges from around the Country. Great alternative options were on offer like Flying Schools and Maritime Colleges.

The question is whether or not to take a gap year? Skilled exhibitors at the expo are experts in their field that can give you their opinions. You can then decide to way up the pros and cons

Not only were there education institutions, but also estate agents and other organizations that focus on Student accommodation, they can help you to find accommodation for your children near the campuses. As well as different zones where you can find the perfect student car, Gadgets such as laptops and other necessary items for studying away from home. All the banks are there to sign you up for a student loan, just make sure you bring along your ID.

Cape Town – 17^th and 18^th May @ CTICC (Fri 9am – 7pm & Sat 9am – 4pm)

Johannesburg – 31^st May and 1^st June @ Gallagher Convention centre (Fri 9am – 7pm & Sat 9am – 4pm)

Durban – 21^st and 22^nd June @ Gateway Wave House (Fri 9am – 7pm & Sat 9am – 4pm)

Port Elizabeth – 19^th and 20^th July @ Feather market centre (Fri 9am – 7pm & Sat 9am – 4pm)

There are other school expos out there, but often they happen during school hours which exclude the parents and every day your child comes home with a different flyer from another college or institution which can be quiet confusing as they often offer all the same things and you don’t know which one to choose. Student expo is a unique concept as you find all the different aspects of student life in one place & you as a parent experience this together with your child!

We have a ‘Power Hour’ which focuses on one particular field & experts in that field talk to the attendees about why they love what they do and where the specific careers can take you, and how to get to where they are
